I'm Sorry I really cannot write french anymore. Scleroderma has attacked my brain cells in such a way I'll never be the same again! Indeed I have suffered!!! On my 7th month of pregnancy I had my first sting while sitting on my new baby's room! I was terrified! For me it was an alergic reaction of the size of a thumb and I did not want to imagine these bastards walking over my baby, stinging, snifing, going through her nose... Took everything out, all her clothes, all furniture...and sprayed the strongest thing I had. Unfortunately, that made them move from that room to my livingroom. The baby was finnaly born and the "bastards" were still showing up. My case data: only appear 5 - 12 specimens each day; they are walking on the walls and ceilings (erverything is painted white) and quite rarely found some on the floor; they come out with strong sun light, between 15-18h; don't know where they are coming from! My house is an old house with lots of wood all over (floor, ceiling, etc). I live close to the sea. Well, it took around 2 months to find out what it was. All the experts said, by looking at the photos (Yes, I also photographed them with my digital camera side by side with a ruler...)that they were termites! By now I know a lot about termites and kept on believing the "bestioles" were not one of those. It was an expert from a disinfestation firm that recognized "the work". Only two of the firms contacted reported already having "killed" Sclero - Only one case for each firm. It was quite a torment! I thought about it all the time, I wrote to everybody all over the world through the internet, I collected and sent specimens to a lot of places and people, I photographed them, I kept on looking at the ceiling, investigating about pesticides and termites... Everyone around me knew the facts but could not help and thought I was getting hysterical. When they finnaly read about the beast they finnaly respected my stress. By now, Rentokil has applied their "special" product twice with a 3 weeks interval. It made me leave my house with my baby and all her stuff and my dog for almost 2 months. I'm still looking at the ceiling and walls everyday but I have hope they are gone for good and I don't have to leave my house so soon! We'll wait for spring and summer and higher temperatures to find out if they have been exterminated...or not. Thank you for the web site dedicated those who have suffered and survived a Sclero attack. Best regards, I'll keep on coming back for posting or reading news. If you need any more info for your Sclero-research don't hesitate to ask. Mybe together we'll reach a better Sclero-understanding ger stronger against them!
